They had 1 car washer before me and when I was hired, the old car washer said we need to wait until the cars get serviced before washing them. Where I worked in Sydney, they did the same thing, but also when there were no cars to wash after a service, they would wash them before for efficiency and IF there was any need to wash more after a service (usually not because clean workshop), we could do a bit extra after! Also in Sydney we vacuumed the whole car, at Slaven Mazda, just the part where the drivers feet are! We also used sponges to clean the cars in Sydney.....at Slaven Mazda, they use brooms with dirty harsh bristles! The service manager Steve Cave hasn't got much initiative, care or true sense as to why it was still as efficient as it was with 1 car washer than with 2! He thought it was because we weren't cooperating....on the contrary it was because I followed the old guys instructions and we sat on our arses when all the serviced cars were washed and the bins were emptied and waited 1 by 1 for another car to get serviced (or he would go and get some coffee from the customer machine and chat to staff). There were heaps of customers cars that could have been washed in that time before they were serviced and the customers that came for their cars after work, had to wait a long time after the car had already been serviced...just for the back log in cars that needed to be washed then! When I started washing cars before they were serviced when time allowed, efficiency speeded up and customers got their cars closer to the time they had expected. Unfortunately the old car washer was too set in his ways (as was the service manager who should have been better able to truly assess and lead the situation and was only middle aged and had no excuse to be set in inefficient incorrect ways) and blocked me from washing cars before their service. The service manager told me to follow the old guy (catch 22 because he was going to fire me when he originally noticed 2 car washers were the same efficiency as 1, so it was impossible to survive there). Also, ALL the service advisers who worked there when I was there noticed and appreciated that they had less impatient customers, but service manager was on a different wave length and didn't even suss the service managers views out enough and let me go (I had saved enough to do a better career and was happy to leave catch 22, no initiative, no clue service manager's pathetic workplace). Also, ALL the service advisors and the service manager were never mechanics previously (most dealerships it is mostly the other way around), so what they say to the customers is usually jibberish, if not compete b.s. and they are lucky they can rely on some good mechanics they have working there to save their uneducated, fake professional backsides! (But at least the service advisors were nice enough people who had a better sense of who was really helping them in their jobs and who was hindering them!)

Even though I don't live in Canberra they were only too happy to help me out so I could get home without getting wet & my car would be secure.

Recently I had to go into slaven mazda as my car was having some issues. I dealt with the service manager, Darren who was more interested in looking at his phone than helping his customers. I tried to speak to him but the only response i got was Darren whispering not so quietly 'stupid woman'. In the end my car is still having issues thanks to slaven mazda. Go somewhere else!

I had my 50,000k MAJOR service here earlier in the year on my Mazda vehicle in which they are supposed the change and clean parts of the motor which I just found was not done as I had my 60,000k service done with another more trusted and professional mechanic as was told that absolutely nothing was done in my previous service. I watched as the mechanic pulled out the filthy air filter which was supposed to be changed and doesn't look like it's been changed or cleaned in years! Along with other parts of the motor that looked like as if they haven't been changed/checked in a long time! I would highly recommend NOT going here for your service or anything else as they are absolutely useless and couldn't care less about any questions concerns you might have! They couldn't even fix my squeaky brakes which the new mechanic instantly fixed! Disgusting service and won't be returning.

I would like to thank Paul & the team at Slaven Mazda for helping me out yesterday with my automatic window which would not go up. The weather was cold & rainy & I was exasperated after Xmas shopping.

I used to work in a Mazda dealership in Sydney, and not long ago worked for Slaven Mazda in Phillip as a car washer. It wasn't long until I noticed how inefficient, bad and poorly they treated their high paying customers behind the scene! Upon talking to the mechanics, I found out they don't heat up the engine/oil, let alone put in any engine flush...they just drive the car from where it is parked, down about 20 metres to the service area and drain the oil cold (the Mazda dealership in Sydney I worked for put in an engine flush and required 15 minutes of idling before draining the oil which helps to break down gunk and deposits). They obviously did this to save time and money and to maximise money coming in and bonuses paid....not caring about the customer and how much extra they pay than if they went to a small, cheaper, better caring workshop! Not to mention they didn't use castrol magnatec or put in any friction reducing additive to the customers new oil to reduce friction on engine start up, like the dealership in Sydney did.
